PRACTICE (tables) 2017

The objects in these photographs were once part of a lively flux of hands on studio activity. They are now static, frozen in the instant that the photograph was taken. Organized within a visual field, teetering between abstract forms and photographs of things in the world, these new objects become both the material and the subject for several ‘still life’ projects; PRACTICE (shelves), PRACTICE (ladders), PRACTICE (tables). Foam core, paper and digital images now push these once useful objects into provisional items, and although the scale of the work points towards monumentality, the materiality of the piece is ultimately tenuous and precarious.

Photographs, foam core, furniture, wood.
